A Damsel in Denver – Dating In The Park

I was recently introduced to a very free-spirited and adventurous gentleman by a mutual friend. I wasn’t very surprised that this guy decided to invite me on a frisbee golf date, and found myself looking forward to our adventurous outing. Damsel Note: Now, I have specific date outfits that I go to depending on the location of the date (don’t laugh, you know you do the same thing) but I was kinda thrown on what to wear on a date in the park. Frisbee golf isn’t exactly a high octane sport or mountain climbing type of activity, but I thought heels would be overdoing it. A recent date of mine suggested that we go out for Polish food. “Polish Food?” I said, “Who in their right mind thinks Polish food is romantic?” I was delightfully surprised when we arrived at Kinga’s Lounge off Colfax and Marion, a quaint little restaurant, lounge and event facility situated between Capitol Hill, Cheesman and City Park. We were welcomed by a friendly and inviting staff that spoke fluent Polish. The main dining area held a large bar and dance floor area. Initially, I was a bit intimidated… Read More →

I had stopped in briefly to this margarita bar before, but had never spent a great deal of time there. Situated off the casual Wynkoop business district, this small and somewhat hard to find gem is a regular stop in for professionals on their lunch breaks as well as the late night crowd, but who would have guessed their happy hour would be SO off the charts! This being a first date, I… Read More →

A Damsel in Denver – Adams Mystery Playhouse

damsel-title

You probably haven’t considered taking your date to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater but I am here to tell you that my date won me over with this unique adventure. I have been through the standard dinner and drinks time and time again, and this night out was a welcome change. Although, arriving at the Adams Mystery Playhouse on Federal Boulevard didn’t exactly make my heart go pitter patter as the old house had vibes reminiscent of Frankenfurter’s lab from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but upon entering, my date and I were greeted by a colorful array of characters and a warm inviting atmosphere. Right away we were thrown into the action with a scavenger hunt! DAMSEL NOTE: This is a… Read More →
